It seems the more we grow as a society, and the more knowledge we acquire, the more violent a society we become. What has happened to our world? Today the US sees more violent crime committed than ever before. According to the FBI records a violent crime is committed every 22 seconds. Those of us that work in homicide investigations never seem to get ahead and there is always one investigation coming right after another.

There was a time when schools were safe. They were a place we sent our children and we knew that every day these children would be there and would be home. Today we at Nickels private investigations know that it just isn’t so. We could send our children to school and they may end up being victims of a school shoot out, or worse, the perpetrators.

Many of our children are involved in homicide investigations. These children are violent. They have little respect for others and even less for property. We see cases of extreme vandalism everyday. Student homicide has become common place. Our cities and towns, and our children are suffering because homicides are on the rice and because many homicide investigations center on our children.

What is happening to our nation? Vandals and children thinking of killing and suicide! Worse, they publicize fights and speak of their behavior on the internet. They lash out at rules, regulation, and school systems. Everyday we see more homicide investigations involving children, and these children go to prison. What will they end up being like as adults?

Some of these children even work in groups and many adults know some of the terrible behavior and things their teens are getting into. There is no particular type of teen who ends up being a criminal or killing others in his school or at another child’s home. It may even be the smartest kid in school.

This is a serious problem, and an issue government, schools, parents, teachers and everyone in our society should be dealing with. We need to find out what these children are feeling and why they are committing these atrocious crimes, and how we can help them and stop them.

Children aren’t born killers. They have some serious psychological and emotional issues to get to this point. We all need to be involved with our children. It needs to be a community effort and we need to address the problem before law enforcement or private investigators have to conduct student homicide investigations!
