In today’s politically charged, pride-motivated and power-hungry culture, the Truth is hard to find. People talk it about as if it happened in the past but is no longer around. It is the Dodo Bird of ethics…the wooly mammoth of values. They say (and it seems to be correct) that the truth is as extinct as dinosaurs, blown away into the annals of history by the meteor of Self-protection, or the deadly flood of lies.

You can’t find truth at the local grocery store. You can’t find it at your favorite coffee shop. You can’t even find it at home. Even if you were able to afford anything in this world, you couldn’t buy it. Truth is expensive. Truth is uncommon. But, the truth is out there.

Though it feels like we are constantly lied to – from the Presidential platform to the real price of things in the local supermarket – there is such a thing as truth, and it wants to be known. Truth wants to reign in our culture. It wants to be the head of this Democratic Society. But in order for truth to be told, it must be sought. There must be seekers of truth out there. And a private investigator is just one of those.

In each case, a private investigator spends all the time necessary and all the energy he can muster to track down and tell the truth – what really happened no matter the outcome. He doesn’t care about popularity. He doesn’t care about glossing things over. No. He cares about justice. He cares about “fair.” He works, day and night, sunrise to sunrise even, to bring the truth to light. And he does it all because that is what he loves to do. That is why he got into the business.

That is why a private investigator interviews people. That is why he conducts background research, surveillance, auditing. That is why he goes above and beyond, stays in the shadows and searches the margins of society. In fact, that is why the entire profession of private investigation exists: to uncover and tell the truth.

How would people know what really happens in the world if it were not for private investigators? Can we trust the news? Can we trust what the “fair and balanced” reports? As we have seen in the past, the answer is no. Investigations into actual events happen daily, and private investigators lead the way.

Nickels Private Investigations is one of these seekers. They lead the quest for truth in , , Maine and . As a licensed professional, they have the skills and the experience necessary to find even the hardest of things. If the truth is out there, then they will find it. It is the role of the private investigator.
